Dear Mr. Mackay,

I would like to ask you and the Board of RBC to make an executive decision to cancel the RBC Petro-Canada gas card program.

As I am sure you well understand, this program directly contradicts the ESG commitments of RBC and your stated intent to contribute to a more sustainable, inclusive and prosperous future for all.

Your gas rebate program also directly works against the aims of Canada’s carbon tax which is to provide an incentive to consumers to switch their consumption away from fossil fuel, including gasoline.

Your program on the other hand, rewards higher fossil fuel consumption and effectively you are encouraging your customers to worsen the climate crisis.
